Are you a student or a recent graduate who has studied for any kind of degree and is currently in Switzerland? The World Health Organization is now conducting a wholly sponsored internship program for various graduates, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students.

This is open to all applicants around the world without regard to race, religion, color, gender, or ethnicity. The aim of the WHO Internship Programme 2025 is to enhance students’ skills and educational experience from various disciplines through talent development opportunities within WHO programs.

The internship is open to technical, external relations, communication, and human resource management students. The program seeks to ensure that health facilities have a dynamic health workforce in every country by contributing to achieving all the global health goals.

All foreign students can apply for the WHO internship in 2025. The internship is fully funded for a period of 6 – 24 weeks and pays for the following expenses accommodation, allowance, and medical support. IELTS is not required, and there is no fee for registration. After completion of the internship, a participant can obtain a certificate or a letter of recommendation.

This program is designed as an effort to create a variety of future public health leader’s efforts to allow international students and young graduates to learn and experience public health in all possible aspects.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant’s age must be at least twenty years when applying.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in any university or equivalent institution for formal qualification (undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate).
  • The qualification must be in a public health, medical, or social field related to WHO technical work or management, communications, administrative, or external relations-related field.
  • Applicants who have already completed their degree are also eligible if they apply for the internship within six months following the completion of their qualification.
  • They must have completed three years of their degree.
  • Anyone in an Undergraduate program, Master’s, or a PhD applicant can apply.
  • There is not any language test requirement, such as IELTS, but applicants must be fluent in at least one of the WHO office working languages.
  • Applicants must not be related to a WHO staff member (e.g., daughter, son, brother, sister, mother, or father).
  • Applicants must have not previously participated in any of the WHO’s Internship Programme.
  • Applicants must have a valid passport from a WHO Member State.
