The University of Geneva’s Faculty of Medicine is seeking a 100% doctoral assistant to join its Laboratory of Neuroimaging and Innovative Molecular Tracers, led by Professor Valentina Garibotto. The position involves studying the pathological mechanisms underlying Alzheimer’s disease and their synergistic effect on clinical symptoms and disease progression. The laboratory is internationally recognized for its use of molecular imaging to understand neurodegenerative diseases and identify biomarkers and targets to delay disease progression. The candidate will work on a doctoral project under Garibotto, Peretti, and Boccalini, and participate in various collateral research projects. The position is renewable and requires registration in the doctoral program in neuroscience.

Project Description:
In this research project, you will have to investigate the underlying mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease with innovative molecular imaging technologies.
You will Be the part of an internationally recognized team developing biomarkers for early detection and treatment monitoring.
This project will contribute to a research that could revolutionize Alzheimer’s care.
Requirements:
- Possess a Master’s diploma in the field of Neuroscience, Biomedical Sciences, Medicine, Psychology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Hold a strong research interest in Alzheimer’s disease and neurodegenerative problems.
- Have basic experience with statistical tools (R, SPSS, MATLAB) and good experience with neuroimaging analysis software (SPM, FSL) (as plus points).
- Express your exceptional motivation and commitment to Alzheimer’s research.
- Show interest in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
- Have a fluent English language proficiency (B2 level).
