Are you dreaming of studying, interning, or researching abroad but worried about the costs? The Radboud University Profiling Fund offers the Individual Travel Grant (IRS) to help you make your international ambitions a reality.
What is the Individual Travel Grant?
The IRS is designed to ease the financial burden of studying abroad. Whether it’s covering the costs of tickets, visas, accommodation, or vaccinations, the grant is here to support you. However, if your study exchange doesn’t incur extra expenses, such as with a virtual exchange, you may not be eligible. It’s also crucial that your study program or faculty approves your trip, ensuring its relevance to your studies.
Are You Eligible?
To qualify for the Individual Travel Grant, you need to meet these conditions:
- You must be a full-time student enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program at Radboud University.
- Your exchange program must last at least two consecutive months and take place abroad.
- You must not be receiving an Erasmus grant, a Holland Scholarship Program grant, or a grant from the Radboud Honors Academy.
- You must be earning course credits.
- You must not have previously received a Holland Scholarship or Individual Travel Grant for study, internship, or research during your current study cycle.
- You must be leaving in more than two weeks.
- What You Get
- The grant offers compensation of €200 per month for stays in Europe and €300 per month for stays outside Europe. The final grant amount is calculated based on the number of days of your study-related stay abroad, up to a maximum of four months.
How to Apply
Ready to embark on your international adventure? Start by accessing your Osiris account to apply for a stay abroad and the Individual Travel Grant. Once your faculty’s International Office provisionally approves your application, you’ll receive an email with further instructions for your grant application. The grant application process opens annually around April for the subsequent academic year. If you’re going abroad in the current academic year or April has already passed, you’ll receive the email with instructions for your grant application approximately one working day after your stay abroad has been approved in Osiris.
In the email, you’ll find a link to a web form with additional information about the grant application. Make sure to fill out the web form completely to complete your application.
