Fully Funded PhD Position in Soil Biodiversity Changes in Response to Global Changes
Our research focuses on the global-scale patterns of soil diversity and how human activities might interrupt it. We are looking for a PhD student to work on Dr. Helen Phillips’ Research Council of Finland project “GC-Worms: Partitioning the Impacts of Global Changes on Earthworm Communities” based at the University of Helsinki. The GC-Worms project shall commence in September 2024 and end in August 2028.
The main idea of the study is to analyze variations in alpha and beta diversity of earthworm communities across various locations and through varying periods. The position available provides a chance to improve on capacities in data management, statistics, R programming languages, as well as scientific writing which includes writing proposals for grants.
