GoI-IES 2025: The Government of Ireland Scholarship scheme is an initiative which is taken up by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Innovation, and Science under the national initiative for all student applicants under Master’s and PhD programs to demonstrate equality for international students.
The focus thrust of the program is on building a viable pool to support the world thus qualified in the field of development research for postgraduate studies. Talented scholars creating a mark through their research in various domains will be honored with prestigious awards.
The scheme is financially fully funded by the Government department and various agencies, including the Government of Ireland, and works with Irish higher education institutions.
The Government of Ireland is providing international scholarships for full-time Master’s or PhD programs in Ireland, free of cost.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must have a domicile outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland/ United Kingdom countries to be eligible for the Government of Ireland Scholarship 2025.
- They must carefully check their eligibility before applying for the relevant program and scholarship.
- Those who will receive an offer from one of the eligible Irish universities will be eligible to apply.
- Applicants must have the status of international fee-paying student.
- Applications must be submitted in Irish or English language.
- Supervisors and referees must provide a positive report about the applicant to be eligible for the Irish Government scholarship.
- Applicants who failed twice after applying for the Ireland government scholarship cannot apply for the same program.
- Furthermore, applicants must not have previously availed themselves of the Irish Research Council scholarship.
- International applicants can apply for the master-taught research program, postgraduate diploma, and PhD degree.
- Applicants must have an excellent academic record to be eligible for the Ireland scholarships for international students in 2025.
