Responsibilities and qualifications
DTU is seeking an ambitious chemist with broad experience in microbial natural product chemistry and an interest in biosynthesis. In this position, you will have the unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge analytical instrumentation in the investigation of bioactive natural products. The project will focus on the characterization of microbial secondary metabolites from different microbes, with the ambition to apply them in Biocontrol and human medicine. Your super scientific methodology will be founded on metabolic utilizing cutting-edge high-goal mass Spectrometry procedures including LC/MS, MALDI imaging, NMR spectroscopy, and various sorts of chromatography.
Eligibility
- A two-year master’s degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Strong background in natural product chemistry, metabolomics, or microbial engineering.
- Hands-on experience with LC-MS, MALDI, and NMR.
- Experience in genome-mining and genetic handling is advantageous.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Motivated, hard-working, and a team player.

Salary and appointment terms
