7 Fully Funded PhD Programs at King’s College
Here are 7 Fully Funded PhD Programs at King’s College, England
1- Fully Funded PhD Position in Law
YTL studentships are among those supported by a generous contribution from the YTL Group. The goal of this funding was to provide education that is not only innovative, but also encourages future generations to think like visionaries, to strive to be the greatest in their fields, and to make long-term good improvements in communities. This is a full studentship intended for a prospective PhD student at The Dickson Poon School of Law. Regardless of how the center’s themes are formed, there must be some connection between them and the planned topic of research for the PhD.
Application Deadline: 01 December 2024
2- Fully Funded PhD Position in economic evaluation
This program focuses on palliative care and rehabilitation. The novel research to be undertaken as part of doctoral studies is shaped by the priorities of older people and their families and is aligned to future health and social care challenges. Our potential projects fall under two broad areas: 1) optimizing mobility and social participation, including economic evaluation; and 2) management of restricting or limiting symptoms, especially breathlessness. Involvement of people with lived experience will be ensured throughout all projects, providing advice and guidance on study design, research processes, and interpretation of findings.
Application Deadline: 23 August 2024
3- Fully Funded PhD Position in Robotic systems
The Center for Robotics Research (CORE) is offering an intriguing PhD opportunity to join its diverse team. Mechanical systems employed in automated processes, such as manufacturing and robotics applications, are often made up of stiff components connected by traditional joints.
The performance of these joints is limited by complicated and unknown phenomena such as friction and backlash. Furthermore, the joints deteriorate, resulting in decreased performance over time. As a result, the system’s capacity to accurately follow given movements is compromised, making it unsuitable for high-precision applications.
Application Deadline: 01 September 2024
4- Fully Funded PhD Position in Ghanaian Literature
The PhD project associated with this studentship will focus on Ghanaian literary production during the period of formal decolonization (c. 1946-1962). It will examine a range of authors and institutions, and explore how far the literary practices of the period were shaped by transcultural and multilingual interactions and appropriations. It will be informed by methods of literary sociology, book history, and comparative literature, and will require extensive research in archives and the ability to work with texts in several languages.
Application Deadline: 20 October 2024
5- Fully Funded PhD Position in Engineering & Physical Sciences
The project aims to produce substantial advances in Blanket design by using a design-by-integrity analysis approach, and it is fully aligned with the UKAEA’s purpose to drive the delivery of sustainable fusion energy while maximizing scientific and economic value. As a world-leading institution in scientific computing, we also aim to advance current computational modeling techniques and computer design of fusion systems subjected to aggressive cyclic thermomechanical-electromagnetic loads and neutron flux to have a greater impact on the advanced solid mechanic community.
Application Deadline: 31 August 2024
6- Fully Funded PhD Position in FE-CFD modeling
You will expand on our previous work on conjugate Finite Element (FE)-Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling of transpiration cooling systems for gas turbine blades3-4 to create new cutting-edge coupled heat transfer-stress FE-CFD simulations for PARC systems in real hypertonic engine conditions. You will investigate the combined design difficulty related to hydrogen coolant flow5, thermomechanical stresses3-5, and hydrogen diffusion-embrittlement6 in ultra-high temperature materials.
This project’s outcomes are immediately applicable to a variety of developing technologies, such as hydrogen-fueled gas turbines for civil aircraft5-6 and reusable rocket engines2.
7- Fully Funded PhD Position in Advanced simulation and optimization
This EPSRC-funded PhD project will address a challenging area of research in hypersomics. You will be using advanced simulation and design optimization for hypertonic flight vehicles. You will use state-of-the-art numerical methods and computing hardware providing highly accurate flow detail and optimized geometries for high-speed intakes.
There are many challenges associated with the design of efficient high-speed intakes as they are highly sensitive to small changes and contain complex flow physics. Advanced methods will be used to compute flow fields concerning input parameters and the geometric shape adjusted towards set objectives e.g. total-pressure-ratio.
